About the Northshore Irish Association
Around 1973, a group of people got together in the home of Gerald & Alice Lynch in Melrose. They felt that there was a need to have an Irish Organization in their community. They were always going to other clubs for dances and they decided that they wanted to have an organization of their own so that they could host dances. So the North Shore Irish Association got started and they welcomed both men and women to become members. The original Officers and Board of Directors for the North Shore Irish Association were: President - Ed Mc Glynn, Vice President – Tom Hanrahan, Treasurer – Eileen Strudas, Secretary – Alice Lynch. Board of Directors were: Margaret Carr, Jim Driscoll, Dolly Madden and Peggy Mc Donough.
